Thanks for clicking on this page! The very fact that you are here, tells me that you have an interest in Christianity and Jesus Christ.
But rather than a quick answer, I want to challenge you to ask questions. Questions are vital pathways to truth. So what kind of questions do you have about Christianity and Jesus Christ?
Who is Jesus?
That is the question of the ages. Some have said, “A great teacher.” Others have noted, “A miracle worker.” Still others have observed, “One who broke down social barriers and upset religious leaders.”
All of those answers have merit and are reflected in the first four books of the New Testament. But let me ask you a question, “Who did Jesus say that he was?” He actually acknowledged himself to be the Messiah…the Christ. He called himself, “Lord.”
A noted writer C.S. Lewis summarized the life of Jesus into three options. He is either a Liar, a Lunatic, or Lord.
But you need to investigate this question and answer it. I would recommend that you begin by reading one of the four accounts of Jesus's life found in the New Testament—Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John.
What makes Christianity different from any other religion?
That’s a great question It is often answered by, “All religions are basically the same. They teach you to be good. Their rituals may be different. But their bottom line is about doing good things.”
I have a respect for all religions but I believe that Christianity differs from every other religious tradition in a foundational way. All other religions are based on DO. They teach people to do good works in order to achieve an experience of God. Only Christianity emphasizes DONE. Christianity asserts that Jesus Christ has done for us what we can’t do for ourselves. Christianity maintains that Jesus Christ by his life, death, and resurrection has freed us from our selfishness and enabled us to enjoy a relationship with God.
Keep asking questions and seeking answers. I would enjoy sitting down with you and listening to your observations about Jesus Christ and Christianity. Please contact me and let’s arrange a time. I’ll even buy the coffee!
